 About Dr. Schwimer

Dr. Schwimer is a West Los Angeles native who grew up in Cheviot Hills and graduated from Beverly Hills High School. He attended Stanford University, where he majored in Human Biology, followed by a master’s degree in biology from UCLA. He received his M.D. from the Keck School of Medicine at USC and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Schwimer has practiced radiology in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica since 1983. He completed his radiology internship at L.A. County/USC Medical Center, his radiology residency at UCLA Medical Center, and his fellowship in CT, ultrasound, and interventional radiology at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Dr. Schwimer has been included in Best Doctors in America annually since its inception. He has also served as an expert witness in radiology-related matters for more than 20 years.

 He is an expert in women’s health imaging, including mammography, pelvic disorders, and infertility. He also has a special interest in virtual colonoscopy.

 Dr. Schwimer is married and enjoys spending time with his three sons and six grandchildren. His interests include photography, Masters swimming, boating, and traveling

Pioneering Medical Innovations

In 1984, Dr. Schwimer and Dr. Lebovic co-developed the groundbreaking technique of transvaginal ultrasound at LSG Imaging in Beverly Hills. Moving beyond traditional external imaging, this pioneering method revolutionized reproductive medicine. It is now recognized as a standard protocol used worldwide across gynecological and fertility practices to evaluate the female pelvis. Their foundational research was published in the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine (1984).
