What is Hysterosonography?

Hysterosonography utilizes transvaginal ultrasound to better evaluate the cavity of the uterus (endometrial cavity) for possible abnormalities. A small catheter is placed in the cervix and a saline solution is introduced by the radiologist, then a transvaginal ultrasound is performed.

Some of the most common reasons you might need hysterosonography services are:

Unexplained vaginal bleeding
Pelvic pain
Infertility
To check for uterine fibroids
Verification that an IUD is in a good position

What is a Hysterosalpingogram?

Hysterosalpingograms (HSG) are performed using fluoroscopy. During the examination, the radiologist will need to introduce a radio-opaque fluid into the uterine cavity by placing a small tube in the cervix.

The examination is performed to evaluate the uterine cavity and the fallopian tubes. At times, in an attempt to open a blocked fallopian tube, a catheter might be introduced directly into it in order to reopen it.

The staff is amazing. Dr ROSS T. GOLDBERG introduced himself right away and Dr Joel H. Bortz spent time with me to review my results right after and he explained them very thoroughly.  This gave so much information about my Colon as well as my liver, pancreas and umbilical hernia.  I was happy to find out my results were good.  Misty the technician is so amazing and when I would call with questions before my appt was always so kind as well as Gloria who sent me the prep kit before my appt. I came here for a HSG after having a horrific failed experience across the street at another radiology clinic.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was referred to LSG Imaging because my first HSG with my Ob/gyn was unsuccessful due to a tricky cervix. I was incredibly nervous and scared, but Dr. Goldberg and Nurse Fernanda were amazing!!! Fantastic bedside manner and great attitudes. I took 1000mg of tylenol and 600mg of ibuprofen before the procedure. There wasn't any pain,  and very minimal discomfort. Dr. Goldberg does ~4 HSGs a day and it shows! It is $775 for the HSG at LSG Imaging, and I would pay it again in a heartbeat if I needed to have the procedure done again.

I'm so grateful for her thorough explanation and for her comforting kindness. She is a true gem. Dr. Goldberg did my HSG test. He spoke to me throughout the procedure and even made me laugh! Literally and yes, they don’t take insurance unless you’re on Medicare but trust me if you care about your health, this is the place to go. The radiologist are on site and you do not leave until they have seen your films. No call later that says come back, we can’t see everything I need to take more pictures. If you can afford it I highly recommend and if you’re on Medicare, it’s a no-brainer

Nurse Witsy was wonderful from the beginning and during the procedure, making it much less stressful and scary with her attentiveness and kindness! Dr. Goldberg was also wonderful and attentive during the procedure! I rarely leave reviews, but I wanted to share my great experience!
